Winning is Fun

A day or two after I won a blog giveaway from Kendi Everyday, I won ANOTHER one from the blog The Thing About Daisies. I must have had a very lucky week! I received my goodies the other day, and once this picture was taken I immediately swept them all into my big yellow Nine West bag so I could start making use of them.  She wrapped them in the prettiest metallic paper and cute gift bag also pictured. Thanks so much!

OOTD: American Girl in Paris

Errr, well I'm not actually in Paris, but I feel very Parisienne today. When I planned today's outfit, I was going to wear my new "Love" necklace from Forever 21 for the full Carrie Bradshaw feel, but I seem to have already misplaced it!

Excuse the weird line around the hip area. While the pockets are awfully practical, they create an odd pull across the hips in some angles. However I have to give ON two thumbs up for this dress. The construction is a bit more quality than their usual merch.

And in other fabulous news, I woke up to discover an email notifying me I won a blog giveaway! I couldn't be more excited, because the blog in question is one of my favorites (and one I've mentioned a few times in this blog) - Kendi Everyday.  The prize is this gorgeous "I Think of You" headband by Spellbound. OOTN: Steal from the Best

My latest fashion blog obsession, Kendi Everyday, posted this darling outfit last week, and I knew immediately I wanted to replicate it. After all, Target dress? Hello! I can never ignore a sweet little floral frock from my favorite retailer.

I already had the cognac boots and mustard cardi, so after purchasing some navy tights and a different cognac belt, I was set.

Stripes are supposedly another hot trend for Spring 2010. In the past I've been reluctant to wear many stripes; how many times have we been told over and over past stripes make you look wider? Well, readers, I don't need any help in looking wider these days, but after seeing the gorgeous Andi of Saltwater Dreams wear her pretty nautical stripes a few months ago, I decided to try it out.

I gained some more style inspiration from Teen Fashionista (same dress!) and Justine at Fetching Fashions.

After seeing my friends Casey (Casey & Chuck) and Heathyr (A Day In Hyr Life) in their new kimono dresses from Target, I knew it would be a win for me. I have a few solid print kimono dresses from the past few summers, and they're so effortlessly comfortable. The paisley print is such a fun addition to my dress collection of mostly solids.

And wow, I really need to figure out a way to take clearer cell phone OOTDs. Pardon the wretched quality.

Is it a misnomer to call this an award?

* When I was little, my ultimate career objective was to become a junior Danielle Steele type and write romantic fiction novels.  Now my only outlet of writing are these stupid blog posts.  Ambition fail.

* I'm pretty sure my Nestie friends know 5x more about my daily life than my real-life friends.

* I have super weird hangups about certain foods. Like cheese. I love pizza (it's one of my favorite foods in life) and quesadillas and those little cheese nip crackers -- but you put it anywhere near a sandwich, and I'm done. I also loathe macaroni and cheese, which has elicited many dirty looks from people through the years. I'm also convinced 95% of condiments were made by the devil himself.

* People's crappy driving doesn't anger me. Cut in front of me with your large SUV all you want but use the wrong form of your/you're or throw in an unncecessary apostrophe, and I'm homicidal.

* The only part of my body that I can't find a flaw with are my ears.

* This talent used to be a lot stronger, but I have a slight photographic memory of actors names and a brief collection of their IMDB resume. You would think this would make me an ultimate winner in the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game, but no.

* I'm insanely snobby about photography. I'd rather melonball my corneas out than look at some schmuck's idea of fancy portraiture with their godawful studio backdrops.
